MO Blues is hosting its annual Blue Sunday concert this Sunday, July 17, from 1-4 p.m. in Jefferson City’s Memorial Park Pavillion, at 111 Memorial Park Drive, just off West Main Street. The event is free of charge and concert-goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs while free food will be available.
Live music features three Mid-Missouri bands, The Square D Band, Blues Highway and The Ted Tyson Band. Food available will include “Beale Street Banquet” featuring “Mississippi Prime Rib” (smoked & grilled BBQ bologna), and traditional Memphis street fixins that go great with the blues. The event will happen rain or shine.
MO Blues is a non-profit community organization, on a mission to “Support, Promote and Preserve the Blues!” in mid-Missouri. Partner sponsors include 89.5 KOPN Radio, Central Bank, Quality Sound Solutions, Jefferson Bank and Will West Music & Sound.
Blue Sunday is a free event, but donations are welcome and appreciated, to help with cost and to support the “Blues In The Schools” (“BITS”) program. There also will be raffles and prizes.
