The inaugural Kansas City Comic Con starts Friday at 1 p.m. and runs through the weekend when Bartle Hall’s doors shut at 7 p.m. Sunday evening. The event is sure to attract a myriad of pop culture and comic books enthusiasts as hundreds of media guests, creators, artists and cosplayers descend on Kansas City this weekend to interact with fans.
Media guests include Sean Astin, Manu Bennett, Colin Baker, Pam Grier, Kristian Nairn and Tom Kane. For those who are unfamiliar, that’s Samwise Gamgee, Deathstroke, the 6th Doctor, Jackie Brown, Hodor and Yoda himself!
Justin Cline, who heads social media for KCCC, said there were a few must-sees for the weekend.
“If it were me, I'd want to catch the costume parade on Saturday morning, the live art stage on Saturday and Sunday, a couple of panels, and the epic walk through our artist alley space, with over 200 creators,” he said.
The costume parade will take place on Central Street at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, with the path leading from 12th Street to 14th Street. The live art stage is located near the center of the main room and guests of the show will be showing off their skills in front of the crowd.
KCCC will also feature several panels throughout the weekend. These panels feature creators and media guests in a long-form presentation or Q&A session. They are approximately 50 minutes long. For a schedule, click here.
