University of Central Missouri students of the COMM 4320: Social Influence course invite you to attend the 2015 Oxfam America Hunger Banquet April 8th, 6:00-7:30 p.m. in Elliot Union 237A. Oxfam America is a worldwide organization that works to right the wrongs of poverty, hunger, and injustice.
Students in the Social Influence course at the University of Central Missouri have been working alongside Dr. Wendy Geiger to plan and host the Oxfam America Hunger Banquet in order to educate the community and raise money to help end hunger. When arriving, attendees will be randomly placed into one of three groups; upper class, middle class or poverty. The upper class will receive a three-course meal whereas the poverty group will get a serving of rice.
Raffle drawings, a video presentation and more will add to both an educational and difference-making night. The banquet is free to attend although donations for the cause are suggested. Donations can be cash, check or in the form of non-perishable food items and/or personal hygiene items. Donations are also being accepted in MAR 236.
