Wings Over Whiteman 2015 is scheduled for June 13 and 14. The event is expected to draw thousands of spectators from the communities surrounding the base, according to a press release from the 509th Bomb Wing Public Affairs Office.
Spectators may enter through the North/Knob Noster/Arnold Gate or the South/LeMay Gate starting at 9 a.m. The main Spirit Gate will only be available to individuals with current military identification cards. The event is free of charge for all spectators.
The first act will begin at approximately 11 a.m. The air acts for this year’s air show include the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, B-2 flyover, A-10 Demo, U.S. Army Golden Knights, Shetterly Squadron (Rifle Airshows, LLC; G&M Airshows; Radial Rumble), Aeroshell, MIG-17, Ace Maker (T-33), P-51, Tora 101, KC Flight, Kent Pietsch comedy and Younkin Airshow (BE-18).
There will also be many static displays such as the Douglas A-26 Invador, Fairchild PT-23 and PT-26, North American T-6, Cessna UC-78, Ryan Navion, Lockheed PV-2 Harpoon, Douglas AC-47, Northan American P-51, Cessna T-37, Aero L-29, C-5, B-1, B-52, C-17, C-21, T-6, T-1, and T-38.
Spectators are allowed to bring folding chairs; strollers or pull-along wagons; purses and fanny packs (medium or smaller in size); medical, diaper, and camera bags (medium or smaller in size); clear beverages in clear, see-through containers; cameras, camcorders, cell phones; and wheel chairs.
Prohibited items on installation include knives (regardless of blade length), multi-tools, box cutters, razors; firearms, stun-guns, mace and/or OC spray, ammunition; weapons such as clubs, black jacks, brass knuckles; explosives; back packs, gym bags, Camel Backs or similar hydration pack; coolers, glass bottles, alcoholic beverages; non-prescription medication, illicit/illegal drugs and or paraphernalia (Marijuana, meth, etc); walkie-talkies, HAM radios, scanners, GPS units; bicycles, skateboards, roller blades/skates, scooters; pets with the exception of seeing eye dogs.
